Hello. I'm the freelance writer who gets tech.
My USP? I've worked in the science and technology sectors I write about, bringing a unique level of understanding and experience most writers cannot offer.
Do you need to translate complicated scientific or technical principles into accessible and compelling articles? With two degrees in Physics and scientific research experience, I write accurate and informative pieces on a wide range of complex technical topics.
Do you need help with your blog posts, brochures, press releases, case studies or website copy? I write for a variety of technical and non-technical companies. If you need help with your blog, want to improve your website's words or just need killer copy - I'm here to help. Do you want me to transform your notes, thoughts, presentations and company documents into engaging copy? I ghostwrite for a range of CxOs and businesses to bring a professional finish to their copy. |

I began my writing career at Cambridge University for the institution's science and technology magazine, Bluesci. I now have more than 15 years' experience in science and technology writing and am based in Cambridgeshire.
With two Masters degrees in Physics, one from York University and the other from Cambridge University, I recently started studying for a Diploma in Creative Writing from Cambridge University. I have worked as a journalist, software developer and marketing executive for a range of innovative publishing houses, software start-ups and blue chip companies. I also appeared on the cult Channel 4 game show 'Countdown' and managed to win one of the show's elusive teapots. If you'd like to see a copy of my CV, please click here. |

Rarely, does one have the pure pleasure of working with a colleague as intelligent and professional as I have had working with Gemma Church. She has added a full new dimension to our publication, is a team member's team member, and is an indispensable part of our organization. Selfishly, I'd like to keep her to ourselves, but knowing the bandwidth of her interests I just can't do so, and I highly recommend Gemma to any objective that she says she's interesting in taking on... this is one person that you can trust to do more than you will have asked for.

Gemma is one of those rare talents. An engaging writing style, with an in-depth understanding of science of technology. As a deep-tech company, there is always a struggle to get writers who understand the gist of the tech and explain it in an engaging style. Gemma ticks all the boxes. She has worked with us on writing case-studies and has done a fantastic job. I look forward to continue working with her.
